From the Pendleton collection of authentic Scottish Tartans: The Clan Stewart Tartan. The Stewarts descended from Walter, the son of an Anglo-Norman baron who came to Scotland in the 12th century, and who was appointed High Steward of the royal household by David I.

Walter, 6th High Steward, married Princess Marjory, daughter of Robert from the Bruce. From them descended the Royal House of Stewart.

Prince Charles Edward Stewart lived from 1720 to 1788. Known both as "the Young Pretender" and "Bonnie Prince Charlie," he was the leader of the Jacobite uprising in 1745, when the Scottish Highlanders rebelled against the English influence.
