Sunday Live: Fall 2020 Casual Shoes by Peter Millar

STREAMED LIVE ON OCT 4, 2020

Welcome to Sunday Live and thank you for joining us today. Today we’re going to take a look at a few of Peter Millar’s Fall 2020 Casual Shoes.

With Hansen’s, we haven’t had shoes in our store for a little while. I personally have very much enjoyed Peter Millar’s casual shoes over the past few seasons, so I thought it would be great to bring them in and allow others to enjoy them. And then we’re looking at a few different dress shoe companies that we’ll hopefully have in probably in the spring here.

So, we are going to look at some of their fall casual shoes that we brought in.

Up first, we’re going to talk about their Hyperlight Glide Sneaker. This is in navy and this is one of my favorite pairs. If you have their EB66 pants or their Durham Performance pants, this navy matches those navy pants perfectly if you like to coordinate like that. Otherwise, even with all their shorts, these are just really a great pair of casual sneakers and they retail for $155.

We brought in a couple of different colors. This is the navy. They just kind of have the white sole with the logo on the bottom there back here. And these are slip-on, which is kind of why they call them Glide. So they have a little bit of a stretch here to slide that foot in. And if you don’t really appreciate that, they do offer you the laces. So, if you would prefer to take out the T-lock – I think they call them T-lock laces – they do offer you the regular shoe laces that you could put in there instead.

But I’ve had a couple different pairs of these. They don’t wear out for as much as I’ve worn them. They’re great, very comfortable. They have that foam insole. Again, these are the Hyperlights. They’re $155.

We have them in sizes 9 ½ through 12 and that’s kind of the sizing we’ve brought in for all of these five sneakers we’re going to look at today. But if you need a different size, if you are a little bit smaller or a little bit bigger, give us a call. I can try to get you the right size. The navy’s actually part of their core colors, so this is pretty much always available.

Now, the second color that we’re going to look at is called gunmetal. This is just a fall color, so if you are looking for a different size, you’d have to contact us sooner rather than later as these will all get sold even from the manufacturer.

So, this is the same, the Hyperlight Glide. This is just in gunmetal. I’ll zoom in a little bit here. It has a great little subtle pattern to it. Just like the navys, they have those T-lock laces, so they’re just a nice little slip-on. Again, you’ll get laces with them if you wish to switch that out and you don’t like that full slip-on process of it. Same insoles and back and bottom, just a different color.

And then I should mention that each of these shoes that you would bring in do come with a little shoe bag. So, you would get this Peter Millar shoe bag with each of those Hyperlight Glides. Again, we have sizes 9 ½ through 12 and they retail for $155. These are the navy and this is the gunmetal.

So we’re going to take a look at another style. These are the Crown Suedes. So these are a little bit more of that casual style. The first style’s a little bit more of that sneaker. This is a little bit more of the casual style. These actually retail for $199 and we have them in navy and then I’ll show you the scotch here in a second.

They have that rubber sole. The soles are a little bit different. It has that rounded toe front, if that’s kind of the style you like to go for. They have the tie, regular navy laces.

Now these do come with secondary laces. They’re a bit of a light grey, if you wanted to have a contrast lace on them. Each of these Suedes do come with this shoehorn. It has a Peter Millar emblem. And just like the other pair, they do have a shoe bag – a little bit different than the Hyperlight Glides. So these are the navy. They retail for $199. We have them in sizes 9 ½ through 12.

Then, we also brought them in in a different color. And I personally really like this scotch color. All the information about them is the same – $199, sizes 9 ½ through 12. They do come with different shoe laces. These are just a little bit lighter khaki. These shoe laces match the bottom here, the bottom sole, so these would look pretty great either way, whether you keep the regular shoe laces or you switch them out for that.

Again, these retail for $199 and I should mention on these, on the inside all of these Suedes have that sheepskin lining. So they have a great lining in there. They have a foam core bottom, the rubber insole. Great casual pair of shoes. They go great with jeans. I’ve seen a lot of different pictures of people wearing them with those lighter stone EB66 pants. They’re just kind of that great shoe, very versatile.

And then, last but not least, we have the Hyperlight Drift. The Hyperlight Drift is very similar to the Hyperlight Glides, other than it does have that flat sole bottom. They look a little less like a tennis shoe, but they have a lot of the same features that those first Hyperlights do.

The price is the same. They retail for $155. This color’s called Titanium. They have a great little accent on the back here that goes into that brown. It does have that little Peter Millar emblem on it. And then on the bottom, it does have a couple different orange accents, which in the Hyperlights, you do see those orange accents.

It does come, like the others, with some shoe laces. So, if you don’t like those T-lock laces, they do have those shoe laces. Again, these are just simple slide-on and, like those Hyperlight glides, they do recommend going a half-size up in these.

Personally, in my athletic shoes, I found out that I would just recommend wearing the exact same size. So, whatever brand that you like in athletic shoe, especially on the Hyperlight

Glides, I wear the exact same size and the Drifts fit me the same way as those Glides do. Now, those Crown Suedes, I wouldn’t recommend going up a half-size. They’re pretty true to size. But the Hyperlights, they recommend it. So, depending on what you wear, like I said, I would stay pretty true to what I wear in athletic shoe vs. what I wear in a dress shoe when it comes to the Hyperlights.

But again, this retails for $155. We have sizes 9 ½ through 12. And I should say the Hyperlights are super-light, not that the Crown Suedes aren’t light, but the Hyperlights, if you’re looking for a nice lightweight casual shoe, those would be it. These also do come with that bag, so each of them come with that nice little travel bag.
