Classic 80's 2 ply pinpoint stripe shirt in navy and white. Medium point collar.

100% cotton.

Fabric:
We only deal with the finest 100% long staple cotton that is either Pima or Egyptian. Most of our fabrics utilize 2 ply yarns that yield exceptional color, luster, softness and durability. All our fabrics meet the highest industry performance standards in terms of shrinkage, color fastness and durability. Each lot of fabric is tested to these standards before going into production.

Natural Finish Cotton:
Our fabrics are finished with a minimal use of chemicals. We do not believe in the trade off created by an excess of performance-enhancing chemical additives. Over processed cotton, practically speaking, is no longer cotton. Only Naturally Finished Cotton insures that our shirts possess the superior feel, breath-ability, absorbency and durability that discerning shirt customers expect from the finest cottons.

Interlining:
Along with the fabric, interlinings are critical to the comfort, dimensional stability and durability of a shirt. We use only the best linings from the best supplier which we pay a premium for. In addition, as with our fabric, each lot of lining is tested against the highest standards, before going into production.

The Fit:

Full Generous cut for comfort, but not too full to be sloppy. All of our dress shirts have true 4 part split back yokes. This creates a distinctive look and enhances the ability to contour to the shape of the wearers shoulders. Also, our shirts have 5/8ths of an inch built into the neck and 1 inch built into the sleeve length to accommodate the unavoidable minimal shrinkage of cotton. Each sleeve has two 1/2-inch pleats and the back has a center box or two side pleats for comfort during range of motion.

Collars & Neckbands:

The single most complicated part of dress shirt making. This area has multiple features and very stringent multidimensional fit and specification requirements. Further, collars and neckbands are highly visible and require great durability. Five hand sewing operations, five stages of hand pressing, along with hand turning creates handsome stable collars and neckbands and insures long lasting comfortable wear and an attractive appearance.

Cuffs & Sleeve Facings:
The second most complicated part of shirt making. Again, this is an area of the shirt that has multiple features and stringent multidimensional fit and specification requirements. Cuffs too are highly visible and require great durability. Three hand sewing operations, three stages of hand pressing along with hand turning creates a stable cuff and insures long lasting wear and a crisp appearance. Further, all of our sleeve facings are hand folded and sewn.

Buttons & Buttonholes:
We use a special 2-ply mercerized thread to sew our buttons and buttonholes. This enables us to sew both with a high density of stitches that is durable and creates a crisp clean look. Buttons are sewn using a cross stitch pattern that also adds to the overall neat appearance. All button styles we use are highly break resistant.

Pockets:
Our pockets are hand creased and hand sewn to the front of the shirt. Further, our pockets are round as opposed to mitered. All of this requires superior skill and time that results in a more refined appearance.

Sewing:
Quality sewing is critical in going from an ok shirt to a great shirt. It starts with using the finest mercerized cotton thread. We sew to a standard of 18 stitches per inch. This is dense enough for a clean refined look but not so dense to distort the fabric. We require that the stitch be as close to the edge as possible, usually no further than 1/32nd of an inch from the edge. This creates a clean look with no curling on the edges.

Finishing & Packaging:
Every shirt is inspected throughout the sewing process. In addition, before packaging, every shirt is inspected one last time before being hand trimmed to remove any loose threads assuring a clean polished appearance. Finally, each shirt is hand pressed and hand folded and pinned. Further, each comes with three extra buttons sewn onto the bottom of the front.
